Tips for shield mounts on freyhand shields?
Hi, I want to mount handgrips and straps on my freyhand shield. I am not that hooked on the variant with suede leather straps. Looking forward to your ideas.

Hi, the only really safe way to add straos to a shield afterwards I know is the method of pulling ste straps through the shield by cutting small (SMALL!) holes into the shieldbody, like the freyhand guys offer here:

But instead of leatherstraps I recommend satin ribbon, as it is very flat and durable.
If you repaint it with flexipaint afterwards, you will hardly see it.

Another but not so stable version would be, to glue big leather hide to the complete inside of the shield and do the above mentioned versiion only trough this inner leather part.
With this version, the shieldbody itself will not be be penetrated and you won’t see it from the outside.
But make sure to use a sturdy leather and a good shoe glue (Kövulfix), otherwise it may come off in heavy battle.
