Was ist “Bastelei” und was “Handwerk”? Oder: wann wird unser Hobby-“Nebentätigkeit” so gut, dass “Basteln” es eeeigentlich nicht mehr ganz trifft?

Das habe ich mich im Zusammenhang mit meinen Lederarbeiten schon ab und zu gefragt. Immer wieder wieder lande ich bei: Basteln tut meiner Seele gut. Handwerk kann es sein, davon Leben muss ich nicht, dann würde ich das Handwerk vermutlich mehr unterstreichen.

In dem Sinne: hier mehr Basteleien, heute ein Abzeichen für die Wissenssucher der Herzsucher (Mythodea Setting) 😉

What is the difference between “handicraft” and “crafting”? Put differently, when our hobby side-projects become high in quality, does the term “handicraft” still cut it?

I ask myself that in regards to my leather crafting every once in a while, but everytime I land on: handicrafts is good for my soul. I would probably put more emphasis on it being a craft / trade, if I had to life off of it, but then again, I don’t.

So in that spirit: Here’s more handicrafts of mine, today a badge for the knowledge seekers of the Heartseeker faction in the Mythodea-Setting. 😉
