So, finally, after over 2 years of work, the time had come for the first Beta Test of my “Cyberpunk Post-Heist Parlour Larp” in my Guestroom. Yesterday, 4 of my friends spend 7pm till 11 pm in my guestroom. They played 4 Cyberpunk Characters that had just returned from a run in which not everything went as planned and had to sit tight for a few hours, until the pressure went down. Of course they wouldn’t just be sitting there on their hands, the hacker had to stop cyber attacks from happening, people from their lives got in contact with them and complicated things (Every character had a dedicated smartphone/tablet specifically for their character, with their own discord account for the server where the “real world” was happening) and in the final strecth of the game a few plottwists made everything that much more complicated.
although the technology wasn’t always on my side, the game went surprisingly smooth and everyone had a good time.
Next steps are now to organize and analyse the player feedback to adjust characters, game mechanics etc. so that I will be able to make this game public. So mayyyyybe I will have admissions open to play the game later this year or the beginning of 2026.
